Draped Wall is a dialogue between the tension of hard and soft, between digital and analogue and how things move in the world and shape themselves. The banners are optically draped but have been stiffened, limiting the fabrics natural tendency to relax its form. The patterning on the pieces suggests a relaxed brick wall that has been hyper extended, flopping into shapes that seemingly defy its suggested composition or materiality. Charging the piece with electricity and hanging the banners on fluorescent tubes lights the piece with a soft artificial glow. They are at once both digital and analogue, virtual and real, accessing both video and textile and the practices and spaces inherent in both mediums.
